IMPORTANT UPDATE: COVID -19 Response

The City of Pismo Beach is currently under a mandatory order to Shelter at Home to limit the spread of the coronavirus or COVID-19. At this time, the City of Pismo Beach will only be providing essential public services that are necessary to protect the health, safety, and welfare of our community. In accordance with this order, the Building Division Permit Counter is closed to the public.

Building Permit Processing

Under the mandatory order to Shelter at Home, the Building Division will be processing applications as expeditiously as possible. Accordingly, the below flowchart has been developed to help guide permit processing during this period.

New Permit Applications

All applications, plans, and support documents shall be submitted electronically to Permit Technician Stephanie Wilson.

Building Inspection:

The City will be conducting onsite inspections at this time. Social distancing and any other measures shall be followed for the safety of the public and staff. Inspections can be scheduled by calling the inspection request line at 805-773-7045 or schedule an inspection online.

Copies of Plans and Permits

To request copies of building permits and plans, please submit your request by email to City Clerk Erica Inderlied. Requests will be handled as Public Records Act Requests. Please be as specific as possible when describing what you seek. For more information, please visit our Public Records webpage.

Code Enforcement

Code enforcement cases will continue to be processed. Social distancing and any other measures shall be followed for the safety of the public and staff. File a Citizen Request

Non-Emergency Inquiries

For non-emergency inquiries, please leave a message at 805-773-7040. We are reviewing inquiries on a case-by-case basis and responses to non-emergency inquiries could be delayed.
