One of the City Council’s top goals is to “build on the strength of our local community to preserve the City’s ‘Classic California’ charm and ensure an exceptional quality of life for residents.” To achieve this goal, the 10-year Capital Improvement Plan and the Fiscal Year 2024 budget includes the Chumash and Palisades Park Improvements Project.
At Chumash Park, the play equipment and softfall material will be replaced. A preliminary rendering of the selected equipment is below. At Palisades park, the play equipment will be replaced and relocated to a location approximately midway between the parking lot and current play equipment location, while keeping the picnic and play areas separated. The barbecues and picnic tables will also be replaced. A preliminary rendering of the play equipment is also shown below.
