Community Asked to Help Protect Pismo Beach Citrus From Serious Threat

A dangerous pest was recently found in Arroyo Grande. It’s called the Asian citrus psyllid, and it can be a carrier of Huanglongbing (HLB), also known as citrus greening disease.

To date, HLB has not been detected in San Luis Obispo County, but if it takes hold, it will be deadly for citrus trees in the region.

Commander Jake Miller Announced as Next Chief of Police for Pismo Beach

Police Chief Announces Retirement - Celebrates Successful Career in Law Enforcement

After a distinguished, 30-year law enforcement career, Police Chief Jeffrey V. Norton, who has led the Pismo Beach Police Department since 2009, has announced plans to retire, effective July 29, 2014.
