South County Police Volunteers
Overview
The Pismo Beach Police Department has been committed to Community Oriented Policing and Problem Solving for numerous years. It is with this philosophy in mind that the South County Police Volunteers (SCPV) was created.

The idea of a SCPV strikes to the very heart of one of the main principles of Community Oriented Policing, which is to increase the understanding and trust between the police and community members. The establishment of a SCPV has enabled the police and the community to share ownership, decision-making and accountability in their service to their community.

Participants of the SCPV must attend the Pismo Beach Police Department Citizen Academy in order to participate in the program. For additional information please see the South County Citizens Police Academy flyer. All participants must complete an Enrollment Form.

For more information, please contact the volunteer coordinator Sgt. Tom Portz at (805) 773-2208 or .
